Pump Panel Simulator
In 2019 HaptX developed a realistic Firefighter Pump Operator Trainer. The sim realistically modeled the fluid dynamics of a fire engine and allowed an engineer train in ways that would be otherwise too expensive or dangerous to do on real working equipment. My involvement was:
- Working with firefighters to scope and build a realistic pump panel simulator for a Pierce Engine Pump Panel
- Meeting with local fire agencies to gather feedback, pitch the product, and conduct user testing during development
- Writing and submitting a grant and socializing the idea at multiple local and state agencies
